This is a good time to be Joel Nielsen. The former University of South Dakota athletic director is now the AD at Kent State, a school that is prepping for its first bowl game in 40 years – narrowly missing out on a BCS bid – and is only a few months removed from a College World Series berth.
Nielsen is also trying to hire a football coach since his left for Purdue yet he made time to be a guest on the Too Much TV podcast this week, offering up insight on life in the Football Bowl Subdivision outside a Power Six conference.
Also, stop back here at 2 p.m. Thursday for the weekly live chat.
