Weekend preview: Oakland and Fort Wayne

Men (11-6, 2-2)
Thursday vs. Oakland (7-10, 2-2), 7 p.m.
Sagarin says: Jacks by 10
Streaks and such: The Jacks have won 23 in a row at home, the third-longest active streak in Division I. But they’re 2-10 all-time vs. OU.
Of note: SDSU has played the last six games on the road. This is its first home contest since Dec. 9. … Jacks guard Nate Wolters and OU guard Travis Bader are 1-2 in the Summit in scoring at 21.9 and 19.6 ppg, respectively. … Per usual, Oakland has an impact transfer. Junior guard Duke Mondy came over from Providence of the Big East. … OU is fifth in D-I in strength of schedule, based on the Sagarin Ratings. The last time out, it dropped a 65-45 decision at Alabama. The Jacks opened with a 70-67 loss to the Crimson Tide.
Saturday vs. Fort Wayne (8-9, 1-2), 4 p.m.
Sagarin says: Jacks by 11
Streaks and such: SDSU has won five in a row in the series over the last two season.
Of note: This is the annual Lamb Bonanza. … Mastodons senior guard Frank Gaines is third in the Summit in scoring at 19.3 points per game. … Fort Wayne owns non-conference wins over Miami (Ohio) and Navy. … The Dons are 1-8 on the road this season, but lead the Summit in rebound margin.
Women (11-5, 3-0)
Thursday at Oakland (7-8, 1-2), 5:30 p.m.
Sagarin says: Jacks by 15
Streaks and such: SDSU has won eight of its last nine games
Of note: The Golden Grizzlies have been without forward Bethany Watterworth - the preseason player of the year in the Summit - due to an undisclosed illness. … SDSU is the only team that has already played three conference home games. … The Jacks have a 9-3 lead in the series with four wins in a row, but Oakland is one of the few gyms in the league where they’ve suffered multiple losses.
Saturday at Fort Wayne (5-10, 1-2), 1 p.m.

Streaks and such: SDSU is 17-1 in the history of the series
Of note: Mastodons guard Amanda Hyde scored 43 points in a game earlier this season, tied for the most by any D-I player. The junior leads the Summit in scoring at 20.1 ppg. That’s 33 percent of the team’s total. … SDSU has two of the top 8 scorers in the league in senior Ashley Eide (15.3) and sophomore Megan Waytashek (13.3).
