Here’s a little something in advance of a weekend set of road games for the South Dakota State basketball teams:
On tap: The Jackrabbits (7-7) carry a three-game win streak to Kansas City in their first post-Christmas contest on Saturday night. ESPN3 will have a live video feed.
The Kangaroos (3-8) are familiar, of course, in that they were a Summit League member prior to bolting for the WAC over the summer.
SDSU has won 8 of the last 9 meetings in the series. Kansas City does, however, have a new coach in former Louisville assistant Kareem Richardson. It also has a loss to Division II Emporia State.
Line: RealTimeRPI.com projects the Roos to win 81-70.
On tap: The Jackrabbits (9-5) return to the court after Christmas break by going to Arkansas-Little Rock (4-5) for a Sunday matinee. SDSU lost the last time out, dropping to 1-3 this season in true road games. But it did win in its last trip to Little Rock in 2011 and is 2-0 in the series.
The Trojans are picked to win the Sun Belt - hardly a new distinction for a Jacks foe. SDSU in December topped Horizon favorite Green Bay and MAC favorite Central Michigan and has lost to Pac-12 fave Stanford and Atlantic Sun fave Florida Gulf Coast.
Line: RealTimeRPI.com projects the Jacks to prevail 71-70.
